INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL START

First Rider

Will be posted on this website Friday August 7 by 6PM
Start Intervals
30 seconds between riders
Order

We will run categories completing 10K first, followed by 20K, and then 40K.

Within said distances - categories will be run in the order provided on the flyer.
Rider Seeding
Riders will be run in the reverse order of registration per respective category - i.e. if you register first in your category you will start last in your category.

 

TEAM TIME TRIAL START

Two minutes between each team.
Team Size 3 riders minimum, 4 riders max - time taken when 3rd rider crosses line.
Order

We will run categories completing 10K first, followed by 20K, and then 40K.

Team Seeding
Teams will be run in the reverse order of registration per respective category - i.e. register first and start last in your category.
Team Categories

Teams must register in the category of the higest categorized rider on the team.

Example: A team with a Cat 2, two Cat 3's, and one Cat 4 would need to register for the Pro 1,2 Competition.

Masters must enter the age group offering of the youngest rider on the team.

Example: A team of one 40+ rider, two 50+ riders, and a 60+ rider would need to register for the 40+. Cat 1& 2 Women may race with Men 3's.

If fielding a mixed gender team an example is: Cat 1 Woman, Cat 3 Male, and two Cat 4 Males - the team would register in the Cat 3 Men's competition.

 

REGISTRATION

Individual Time Trial - Saturday August 8 Pre-Registration Only via BikeReg.com. Closes Thursday August 6 at Noon (CST).
Team Time Trial - Sunday August 9 Pre-Reg via BikeReg.com encouraged but not mandatory. Teams may register Friday at packet pick up and Saturday morning during the ITT. $15 late fee charged for onsite registration.
Note: Bike Reg charges a service fee per transaction in addition to your entry fee.

USAC License Required to Participate.

 One Day Licenses ($10) and Annuals ($60) available at registration.

 

EVENT & FIELD LIMITS

Individual Time Trials - Saturday August 8 Saturday is capped at 500 participants
Cat 5 Men & Cat 4 Women limited to 50 entries per category. Masters 35+ Cat 4/5 Limited to 75 partipants.
Team Time Trials - Sunday August 9 Sunday's Team Time Trial is limited to 125 Teams.

PARKING & COMMUNITY RESPECT

Parking is located both days at "Burman" park - aka the Baseball Fields. Parking is limited. If you're utlizing local lodging it is easier to ride to Burman Park than drive and park. For Parking Info Click Here
Community Respect - Burman park is surrounded with residences. Since we will be getting started early in the morning please do not play your car stereo loud, yell, or urinate or change in public.


WARM UP AND COOL DOWN

On Mexico St, River St, and Demontell Lane. Follow signs & See Warm Up Page. NOTE: Parking and packet pick up is 2.2 miles from the event start.

 

COURSE

The course is a classic out and back on RR471 North of Castroville, Texas. The road is smooth asphalt and the course is mostly flat. The first 5 miles or so has a wide 8-10 foot shoulder. In Rio Medina the shoulder is reduced to a 4 foot bike lane. Participants are expected to stay in the shoulder and bike lane at all times except, obviously, when passing another rider or avoiding debris. Course is open to traffic. Preview the course here.

 

LAW ENFORCEMENT & PERMITING
Medina County Sheriffs
Four Deputies will be present both days to ensure your safety and/or any issues that may arise. The Medina County Sheriffs will be working the turnaround as well as the intersections of RR471 @ RR1957 (aka Potranco Rd), RR471 & RR2676 (in Rio Medina), RR471 @ Rio Medina Rd (also known as Lake Rd).
Castroville City Police
One Deputy will be present at start line at RR471 & Demontell Lane (aka the Power Sub Station). His or her job will be to slow traffic down as well as to keep participants from riding South on RR471 into Castroville. Please use the warm up area provided.
TXDOT
The Individual and Team Time Trial events are permited via TXDOT -SAT Regional Office.
Sanctioning
These events are sanctioned through USA Cycling & TXBRA.
